Is no one moving?

It has definitely been a little slow around the office lately. I know we are in a slow season for moving and in the middle of an economic struggle, but really....so few are relocating?

Now we mainly deal with the Hartford, CT area. So, it could be that this area is particularly effected, but I doubt it. From residential to commercial, local to long distance, the business just isn't out there.

That's enough negative talk for the day.Let's focus on the upcoming holidays and make them great.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Excellent New Year!

Hartford Moving Tips

Here are a few tips for you next residential move:

Break it down.
Make sure that you seperate everyhting you can into teh smallest pieces possible. Break down furniture, beds, appliances, etc when preparing to pack. This can help save space and save you money.

If it's important, Pack it yourself.
When packing items of value, to make sure its done right, do it yourself. This is especially true if the item is not so recognized as an object of value. Jewelry, Art, and electronics are well known, some antiques may just look like junk to a mover.

Get Good Supplies.
You may be tempted to buy inexpensive boxes and crates....don't. Get good quality packing material. In the end it will save way more than teh minimal cost difference.

So, as you prepare to get ready for next years big move, keep these in mind.

O'Tannanbaum!

I love Christmas trees!

Last weekend I decided this year it was time to get a real tree. So I stopped at the local hardware store that had a bunch of trees outside to pick one out. I found the perfect 5 ft tree to adorn my house.

Getting it home was a bit hard, had to stuff it in my trunk with the back seats down. When I finally put the tree up in my family room.......it was majestic! Loaded that baby up with lights and decorations, then the piece de resistance.....a rotating angel that glows multi colors....awesome.
